Paw Patrol Play Mat CAL Border

Crochet, paw patrol, play mat, yarn, colors, road mat, play mat, cars, crochet for kids

Here it is. The final piece of he paw patrol play mat. It’s time to make the border. I found this section to be the most tedious section. There were a lot of rows I had to crochet with a tighter tension while constantly checking to make sure it laid okay.

To make this border I went down a crochet hook size. I used a h/5 mm hook. On the row side of the mat I put 30 sc stitches on top of the location pieces and 14 sc stitches on the stitches side of the roads. It should be even with how many stitches there are in each piece. The places were 30 stitches across so put one border sc in each stitch. I put three stitches in my corners. In the first round, I counted two of those as part of my 30 or 36 I needed. On the sides of the mat, make 36 sc stitches down the side of the places and 16 sc stitches on the sides of the roads.

You should a total of 520 stitches across the top and down the sides. You will be increasing twelve stitches per row, 3 stitches in each corner. Make a total of 8 border rows around it in grey.

At the end of the 9th row, you will have a total of 616 stitches. You will make five yellow, then five grey sc until you have 6 left. The last 6 will be in grey. The 10th row sc yellow on top of yellow stitches and grey on top of grey stitches. If your yellow line is around the corner, you still do he sc 3 in the corner. That line will just have more ham five stitches in it. If your yellow line stops in the corner. Make one yellow sc and he other two grey.

Rows 11-18 sc around in grey. Fasten off and you are done.

I hope you had fun making this play mat and whatever kiddos are receiving it love to play it.
