Heart Shape Mini C2C Dishcloth

This fun and easy dishcloth works up so quickly and it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day. It uses less than one skein of cotton yarn and is also different than most c2c projects you have completed.

This dishcloth will be in the shape of a heart. You will not have even sides. I wrote the pattern so as long as you follow how many blocks you need in each row it will come out correctly.

Size 

10″ X 9″

Materials 

1 skein of cotton yarn

5.5 mm (I) hook

Needle

Scissors 

Abbreviations 

hdc – half double crochet 

sp – space 

st(s) – stitch(es) 

ch – chain 

sl st – slip stitch 

Notes 

• This is made just like regular c2c but with 2 hdc in stead of 3 dc.

Basic mini c2c instructions

Starting and increasing

1. Ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in last ch

2. Ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, sl st to top of ch up from last block, hdc 2 times on that ch up

3. Ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, (sl st to top of ch up from last block, hdc 2 times on that ch up) repeat twice

Decrease

1. Sl st on top of 2 hdc from last block, ch 2, place 2 hdc on ch up, continue on in row making regular blocks

1.   Ch 44, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, (sk 2 chs, sl st in next ch, hdc in next 2 chs) repeat across (9 blocks)
2. Ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, sl st to last block of previous round, make 9 more blocks (10 blocks)
3. Sl st 2 times on hdc sts from previous round, ch 2, hdc 2 times on ch up of last block, make 9 more blocks (10 blocks)
4. Ch 4, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, sl st to last block of previous round, 10 blocks (11 blocks)
5. Sl st 2 times on hdc sts from previous round, ch 2, hdc 2 times on ch up of last block, 10 blocks (11 blocks)
6. Sl st 2 times on hdc sts from previous round, ch 2, hdc 2 times on ch up of last block, 10 blocks (11 blocks)
7. Sl st 2 times on hdc sts from previous round, ch 2, hdc 2 times on ch up of last block, 10 blocks (11 blocks)
