Worsted weight yarn
grey yarn
red yarn (Date night, rock n roll yarn, or any red yarn)
green yarn (Date night, rock n roll yarn, or any green yarn)
Size J hook (6.0 mm)

sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
dec – decrease
sp – space
St(s) – stitch(es)
Ch – chain
Sl st – slip stitch
Special Stitches
v st – dc, ch 1, dc in same sp
4 dc cluster – (yarn over, insert hook in st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops) repeat 4 times, yarn over, pull through all loops on hook

- If you would like to make the shawl wider, increase the chain amount by 3s.

Ch 242
- Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (241sts)
- Ch 3, turn, sk 1st sc from previous row, 3 dc in next st, (sk 2 sts, 3dc in next st) repeat until 1 st remains, dc in last st (80 clusters or 241 sts
- Ch 4, (counts as ch 3+ ch 1) turn, sk dc st that ended previous round, dc dec over next 3 sts, ch 2, (dc dec over next 3 sts, ch 2) repeat until 3 sts remain, dc dec over last 3 sts, ch 1, dc in last st of the dc dec sts (80 cluster dec groups)
- Ch 1, turn, sk top of dc from previous row, sc in ch 1 sp from previous row, (sc on top of dc dec from previous row, 2 sc in ch 2 space) repeat until you reach your last ch 2 sp, sc on top of last dc dec from previous round, sc in 3rd ch up from the starting ch of the previous round (this will make your sides more even if you go into ch instead of around it) (241 sts)
5. Attach green yarn for the stem, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, [sk 2 sts, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st] repeat until there is 1 st left, dc in last st (80 v sts)
6. Attach red yarn for the rose, ch 4, dc cluster in ch 1 sp, (ch 2, dc cluster) repeat across until you placed a cluster in every ch 1 sp, dc in ch up (80 dc clusters)
7. Ch 1, sc in 1st st, sc on top of dc cluster, (place 2 dc sts in ch 2 sp, sc on top of dc cluster) repeat across, sc on top of ch up (241 sts)
8. Ch 3, turn, sk 1st sc from previous row, 3 dc in next st, (sk 2 sts, 3dc in next st) repeat until 1 st remains, dc in last st (80 clusters)
9. Ch 4, (counts as ch 3+ ch 1) turn, sk dc st that ended previous round, dc dec over next 3 sts, ch 2, (dc dec over next 3 sts, ch 2) repeat until 3 sts remain, dc dec over last 3 sts, ch 1, dc in last st of the dc dec sts (80 clusters)
10. Ch 1, turn, sk top of dc from previous row, sc in ch 1 sp from previous row, (sc on top of dc dec from previous row, 2 sc in ch 2 space) repeat until you reach your last ch 2 sp, sc on top of last dc dec from previous round, sc in 3rd ch up from the starting ch of the previous round (this will make your sides more even if you go into ch instead of around it) (241 sts)
Repeat rows 5-10 until your shawl reaches the height you would like.
