My new diamond shawl pattern is a fun and beautiful design for everyday use or for when you are allowed out for a night again. Use any thinner yarn to make a nice shawl for your average spring night or use a fancier yarn to make a dressy version for next wedding or banquet you attend.

For my diamond shawl, I used a 2 weight yarn by Ice Yarns called Summer. I choose this yarn because it has a bit of shimmer within the strand. I enjoyed working with this yarn and loved it because of that sparkle; without worrying about breaking the metallic string as I was working with it. There are, however, plenty of other yarns you could use.

If you are looking to make something in a lighter weight, you could use Lion Brand’s Beautiful You, Premier Charmonix. For a nice cotton shawl try Premier Cotton Fair. If you would like to dress it up, Summer Nights by Lion Brand would be a great choice; but pay attention to your gauge because you may have to add a few diamonds to the row. If you would like a slighter warmer one, you could try Knit Pick’s Brava Sport or even a 3 weight like Premier Everyday DK.

There are endless possibilities of yarn you could use to make the diamond shawl. If you are unsure if a yarn will work, try a gauge swatch or feel free to email me. You can find my email address below.
