The other day I was working on a waffle stitch blanket and it made me wonder if anyone had used that stitch to make a waffle person. Immediately, I went off to search for a pattern to make my children and I couldn’t find one.
That is how Brekky the Waffle person came to be.

After making his body, I realized it needed arms and legs but not just plain ones. It needed fun ones, so I made the utensils. When I was done, I showed my family and they asked why it was naked, so that inspired the egg shorts.
I used worsted weight yarn to make Brekky however you could easily use dk or a bulky yarn to make it bigger or smaller. I hope you enjoy making this pattern and will share it so I can see yours.

Fasten off after making 1st one. After making second one, continue to side instructions.

Side of Waffle
1. Hdc 33 sts on each side of 2nd waffle, sl st to 1st st. (No increases. If you feel like there are gaps when hdcing along side of waffle, make hdc dec sts to fill in those gaps. Just make sure you still place only 33 sts on each side.) (132 sts)
2. Ch 2, hdc 132 sts around, sl st to 1st st. Fasten off leaving a long enough tail to sew two waffle pieces together.
3. Attach safety eyes and nose. Sew on smile.
4. Place st markers on the 33 st, 66 st, and 99 st. Sew to 1st side using the st markers as a marker of where the corners are on the second side. Stop after sewing 3 sides together. Stuff. Finish sewing last side. Fasten off and weave in ends.

5. I will break this round up into sections. I will make it I three groups to make it easier to follow along. After you completed those 3 sections, repeat them once more for a total of 60 sts.
(Sl st in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, tr in next st, 2dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st)
(Sl st in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc & tr in next st, tr in next st, tr & dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st)
(Sl st in next st, sc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, dc in next st, 2tr in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st)
Start at 1st set of parenthesis and repeat them one more time, sl st to 1st st (60 sts)
6. The next round will be written out the same way in 3 sets of parenthesis to follow around and then repeat them one more time for a total of 72 sts. Start with ch 2
(sl in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, tr in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st)
(Sl st in next st, sc in next st, hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, tr in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st)

2. Using the tail from one side, sl st into next st, sl st into next st of that side and the aligning st on the other side, sl st through both sides for 5 more sts. Fasten off and weave in end.
3. Using the other tail sl st to next st, sl st through both sides for next 6 sts. Fasten off and weave in end.

4. Using yellow, attach to the side of one of rounded bumps. Ch 2, dc in 3 sts. Ch 2, dc across. Continue for 6 more rows. Sew to same side of other egg so strap is even. Repeat on the other side.
